Judge Orders Lifting of Trump Administration’s Unlawful Freeze of Roughly A Billion Dollars For Electric Vehicle Charging
Yesterday, United States District Court Judge Tana Lin for the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Washington issued a preliminary injunction lifting the Trump administration’s unlawful freeze of federal funding for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. NEVI is a transformative $5 billion initiative to build reliable and convenient fast charging stations for electric vehicles along major highways nationwide.
Trump is gutting LIHEAP—the program that helps low-income Arizonans afford A/C—right as extreme summer heat hits. It’s cruel and dangerous. In this weather, cutting off that assistance puts lives at risk.
