Phoenix is set to receive nearly $180 million in federal funding to help build a new advanced water purification facility — a project city leaders say is critical to both economic growth and long-term water resilience.

The funding, announced by Arizona Congressman Greg Stanton and Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, will support the design and construction of the North Gateway Advanced Water Purification Facility in north Phoenix.

Arizona veterans urge Republicans to save the electric vehicle tax credits they just scrapped

Veteran groups and a Democratic state lawmaker, flanked by electric vehicles, urged federal lawmakers Tuesday morning to save a tax credit aimed at making the vehicles more affordable that is set to expire at the end of September.

The “one big, beautiful bill” that Republicans crafted and President Donald Trump signed eliminates the electric vehicle tax credit, along with a number of incentives for clean energy, marking a major reversal on clean energy initiatives that has major economic ramifications for the state.

Do you want federal money for an EV or home solar? Time is running out — fast

If you’ve wanted to install rooftop solar panels or buy an electric vehicle in recent years, you’ve probably been able to get federal money for them in the form of tax credits.

But those incentives are going away now that President Trump signed what he’s called the “One Big Beautiful Bill” into law on July 4.
